Guest Guide

When you visit the Asia-Dragonfly site without login, you are known as 'Guest'.

The top menu offers you the following choices:

1) Global Search

The database search is based on a combination of different criteria:

• taxonomic names
• countries or regions
• habitat

The results are of two category: a photos list or a species list .

As a Guest, you can only look at the photos. If you wan to post your own photos and contribute to the site, please register to become a Member.

2) Articles

This section presents articles written by Odonatists about Oriental Odonata. You will certainly learn a great deal of information here.

If you have written an article and want to share it, please mail to the Webmaster.

3) Photo

Our policy is to show the photos at their best resolution. A small size (thumbnail) is displayed first and by clicking on it, you obtain the maximum resolution. This implies sometimes large JPG files but you always know the size of the file before opening it.

Photos are sorted by

• Country where the photo has been taken
• Family of Odonata
• Species
• Author

The results are provided 10 by 10. Use the bottom navigation bar to move around the result of your selection. For each photo, the Species, the time and place, the photographer name are provided. Sometimes, extra information are displayed.

If you have selected the photo by Country, Family or Author, then the Species name is a link to the Species result list. The top of the Species result list may include general information about the Species and in which Areas of the Oriental Region the Species is found.

4) Link

A list of Internet links to other websites on Oriental Odonata. Most of them are in English, others may be in other languages but we consider that their content (like photos) deserve a visit even if you are not familiar to their language content.

5) Book

A bibliography for Oriental Odonata and a selection of the best guides per country. Other books are not only about Oriental Species only but are definitely "must have" references.

6) External Article

The Internet is a rich source of information. To find one interesting article is sometimes a challenge. We select here articles or link to article which may help you in your research. Do not forget to consult the 'General Topics' section of the site for extra articles.

You can add new Links, Books or Articles to Asia-Dragonfly.
Become a Member and participate to the enrichment of the Database.

7) Community

In this section, you can register as a Member. Registration is *free* and there is no risk that your e-mail, or any information of your profile, would be use for any commercial purposes.
